Our Ceilidhs
Brampton Community Band is available for hire and ready to make your event unforgettable. Alongside hosting our own lively ceilidhs, we bring music, energy, and fun to church events, parties, and weddings.
Here are three great reasons to book us for your next ceilidh:
- We tailor every performance to suit your event. From the band lineup to the music and dancing, everything is shaped around your needs. Our experienced callers make it easy for everyone to join in, with simple, enjoyable dances that get the whole room on their feet.
- We offer a vibrant mix of folk music with dances to match—Scottish, English, Irish, and even a few Québécois tunes. Whether your guests are seasoned dancers or complete beginners, there’s something for everyone.
- As a not-for-profit group, we offer excellent value for money. We play for the love of the music and the joy of bringing people together, creating a warm, inclusive atmosphere that guests of all ages will remember.
About Us
Brampton Community Band is a folk ensemble based in Chesterfield, Derbyshire. We have been performing for nearly twenty years and, happily, still include several original members.
We currently comprise eighteen musicians who play a range of instruments, including fiddles, flutes, guitars, other rhythm instruments, accordions, and percussion.
We play a range of English, Irish, and Scottish folk music, as well as a small repertoire of continental music.
Our Music
The first video is a recent recording of ‘Farewell to Devon’. We performed this piece in memory of Karen, one of our first members.
The second video shows the band enjoying themselves at one of our regular Halloween ceilidhs. The accompanying music is one of our favourite tunes, called ‘Horses Brawl’.
